Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kigali – Gisenyi
English speaking guide picks you up from Kigali international airport/hotel and transfers you to Gisenyi on the longest tour where you can enjoy beautiful beaches as well as boat cruise on Lake Kivu, viewing Nyirangongo volcano. You cross the Rwanda-Congo border to Goma. Your accommodation is Hotel Cape Kivu.
Day 2: Virunga, Then Hike
After breakfast leave for Virunga park headquarters. Be briefed, pick a guide and proceed for the hike from 10:30 at Kibati starting point. 5-6 hours to the summit. Go through a muddy, slopy and steepy route; while at the summit, you’ll have dinner at Monta Cape Tents.
Day 3: Back To Kigali
Slope the Nyiragongo, after breakfast. The driver picks you up and drives you back to Kigali for your flight or other destinations like parks of Rwanda or Uganda – maybe gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. Contact us for a quotation.
