Our 10-day trip brings you the highlights of Uganda: where the savanna meets the rainforest. Expect to see the animals of the savannas (lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, leopards) and up to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees. You won’t miss the black and white colobus, vervet monkey, red-tailed monkey, blue monkey or olive baboon. The trip specifically includes the most important and well known tourism cities and national parks of Uganda: Fort Portal, Jinja, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi National Park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park. Also, expect the Source of the Nile.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe To Fort Portal Uganda

After breakfast leave for Fort Portal. Arrive and have lunch in Fort Portal and then proceed to our hotel stay at Boulevard Excelsior Guest House (budget) or Chimpanzee Guest House (mid-range) or Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 2: Kibale Forest

Chimpanzee tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. For people interested in primates and birds and willing to make another walk, we can do a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes.

Day 3: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, allowing you an en-route stopover at the Equator for photographs, as well as performing a simple experiment, and experience a tropical balance before proceeding for lunch. After lunch, proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park. Later, an evening simple game drive and salt lake.

Stay at Engiri Lodge (budget), Bush Lodge (tented rooms)

Day 4: Game Drive, Boat Cruise

Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.

Early in the morning, you will go for a game drive to view out the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts along Kasenyi tracks and Queen’s Mile. This dawn drive offers you an opportunity to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, cape buffaloes, elephants, defassa waterbucks, spotted hyenas, Uganda kobs, Topi, bushbucks and lots of bird species. After the game, drive return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relax till lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel into Lake Edward. This launch cruise will give you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching, and game viewing at a close range. Return for an easy evening dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Ishaka

One this day head to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth national park. Search for tree-climbing lions and other animals to see including topis, and hartebeest.

Day 6: L. Mburo National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Lake national park. Game drive or a boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. In the evening we make a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.
Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible. Stay at Eagle’s Nest (budget) or Rwakobo Rock Resort (mid-range).

Day 7: L. Mburo – Source Of The Nile

On this day, you will transfer from lake Mburo National Park to Jinja for the source of the Nile.

Day 8: To Jinja Through Mabira

Morning game drive/walking safari, then proceed to Jinja through Mabira forest; roadside market, sugar and tea plantations.

Day 9: White Water Rafting

White water rafting at the source of the Nile. Visit the second-longest river on the planet. A full day White water rafting adventure on the Nile. Stay at the source of the Nile.

Day 10: Ending The Tour

Early morning transfer to Entebbe or Kampala.
