During this Uganda safari to Queen Elizabeth national park you will have a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, game drive adventure and a visit to Kalinzo forest reserve/Kyambura gorge for a memorable Chimpanzee tracking.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Drive Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast, starts your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park in western Uganda. Have the stopover at the equator and do a brief photo taking. Proceed to and have lunch in Mbarara town where you continue to the park. The park is one of the outstanding treasures in Uganda and named after Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Uganda in 1954.

Queen Elizabeth Park covers an area of 1978 square kilometers and is situated in between two big lakes – George and Edward, as well as 34 kilometer long Kazinga channel. As you get into the park you will be able to see the escapement of Ruwenzori mountain creator lakes, rift valley, and several animals in the park plains. The park prides itself on animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, cobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards but it may not be easy to see it. Meals and overnight at Mega safari lodge. Enganzi Lodge or Ihamba safari lodge, Bush lodge tented rooms or bandas (mid-range) on full board.

Day 2: Early morning game drive, evening boat cruise

Tourists enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. You will have a cup of African tea early in the morning and move out at dawn to catch up with early risers. You encounter animals including waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, a variety of birds, and many more. Over 95 species of mammals and 600 species of birds have been recorded in the park.

After the game drive, you return to the lodge for breakfast followed by relaxation after lunch. Later you will set off for an afternoon/ evening boat cruise along Kazinga channel. On your Kazinga channel boat voyage, you most likely see buffaloes close to the water, hippos, dozens of pied kingfishers, and pelicans among others. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Chimps tracking, return to Kampala

Wake up in time to take Chimps tracking safari in Kalinzo forest reserve, Kyambura gorge. After a chimps-tracking, take amid morning breakfast, checkout, and start a drive to Kampala/Entebbe. Have lunch in Mbarara town and continue to Kampala where you arrive in the evening. This Uganda tour ends.
