Overview
Our 14-day trip brings you the highlights of Uganda: where the savanna meets the rainforest. Expect to see the animals of the savannas (lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, and leopards) and up to 13 primate species, including gorillas and chimps.
The trip specifically includes the most important and well known national parks of Uganda: Murchison Falls national park, Kibale Forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi national park, lake Bunyonyi and lake Mburo national parks, and the source of the Nile.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe – Kampala
Arrive at Entebbe airport. Your guide will be there waiting for you.
Pick up and proceed to your accommodation. Stay at KK Hotel (mid-range) or Entebbe Guest House (budget).
Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls
Stay at Fort Murchison Lodge (mid-range) or Pakuba Lodge (budget). Transfer to Murchison Falls national park. On our way we visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see the famous white Rhino.
Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful national parks of Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and – if you’re lucky – even leopards.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park
Early morning game drive in this beautiful national park. Afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls. The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species and walk to the top of the falls.
Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Masindi – Fort Portal
Stay at the Westend Motel or Boulevard Excelsior Guest House (budget) or Chimpanzee Guest House (mid-range). Evening city tour in Fort Portal.
Day 5: Fort Portal And Optional Tours
After breakfast, spend a day in Fort Portal beautiful town. Relax after a long drive, you can choose to do a few activities in the afternoon like tea tours, caves and water fall, or Rwenzori mountain hike, and then transfer to Kibale Forest.
Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species! Including chimps, baboons, black and white colobuses, red colobuses, grey cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey.
Day 6: Kibale Forest
Stay at Kibale Forest Camp or Chimpanzee Guest House Chimpanzee. Do tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. For people interested in primates and birds and willing to make another walk, we can make a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes.
Day 7: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth
Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth national park. On our way we pass the equator where we will make a stop. Game drive in the evening.
Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Expect to see elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and sometimes leopards. Stay at Bush Lodge (mid-range) or Engiri Lodge (budget).
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Game drive in the morning. Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.
The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos in the world.
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable
Stay at Gorilla Friends Resort. We drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through interesting villages and have some breathtaking views of the mountains.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the two places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!
Driving time depends on which area in Bwindi we’ll decide to stay in.
Day 10: Bwindi-Bunyonyi-Kabale
Stay at Entusi Resort Camp (budget) or Rushaga Gorilla Camp (mid-range). Gorilla tracking! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animal, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget, evening transfer to lake Bunyonyi and stay on an island. After breakfast, there are optional activities: tribal visits, community walk, canoeing.
Day 11: Bunyonyi-Mburo
Stay at Rwankobo Rock Resort or Eagle’s Nest. After breakfast, drive to lake Mburo national park via Igongo Cultural Centre. Meet with the ethnic cultural groups in Western Uganda; hot lunch on the way!
Day 12: To Jinja via Mabira
Morning game drive/walking Safari, and then proceed to Jinja through Mabira Forest. See roadside markets, sugar & tea plantations.
Day 13: The Nile
White water rafting at the source of the Nile. Visit the second-longest river on the planet. Experience a full day white water rafting adventure on the Nile. Stay at the source of the Nile – source of the smile!
Day 14: Kampala-Entebbe
Early morning transfer to Entebbe or Kampala.
